Our Story
Ked’s began its journey in 2009 as Old Town Creamery in Plano, Texas, founded by Hussain Kedwaii and his wife, Ayesha Sohael. In 2016, Tayyab Shahid along with his wife Hina Tayyab, and Hussain Kedwaii came together to form partnership in the Old Town Creamery business. Tayyab is an experienced food service professional with a passion for innovation and hands-on expertise in developing both food and dessert offerings.
Together, the partners shared a vision to build on their success and create a concept that blended creativity, efficiency, and broad customer appeal. That vision became Ked’s Ice Cream, Waffles & Crepes. After extensive research and planning, the partners launched the brand in 2019 from their Plano, Texas location. Ked’s was designed around freshly made, made-to-order desserts served in a welcoming, modern environment.
What started as a single neighborhood ice cream shop, quickly grew into a beloved local brand, popularly recognized as Ked’s. Along with ten additional franchise locations, Ked’s became a fixture in its communities and earned recognition on the Best in DFW list for Best Frozen Treats.
Today, Ked’s continues to grow through franchising, bringing its signature frozen treats to communities across the United States. With a focus on quality, simplicity, and consistency, Ked’s remains committed to creating memorable dessert experiences while expanding responsibly into new markets.
